It was a 60s movie. It started with a rich family in a small village. This Lau's family run Chinese Medical business. But one year, their family met some obstacles. So the young master, Lau Shing, and the all of the other guys who are working for him, need to go to big town and run the Chinese Medical business there. Lau Shing had a wife, Xiu Wai and a daughter, Ling Zhi. He promised to return home after 3 years. He gave his wife a Yok Pui as a present.

But Pang Sei said it was Lau Shing who set the fire. The cops believed Pang Sei and put Lau ShingLau Shing was helped by a lawyer named Xiu Chin. But she is not experienced in solving murder case. She tried her very best to help Lau Shing. Searching everywhere for witnesses. But all of them was bribed by Pang Sei. Even the magistrate was also bribed by Pang Sei.
The reason Pang Sei did this because Lau Shing is very rich. If he gets him dead, then he can cheat everything away. DEVIL! Mata duitan. But at last, Lau Shing was executed. And dead. But his soul went back to his village. And his old home. Where he and his family used to live in. But when he was back, he did not know that he had became a ghost. He saw his house was in a mess. It was like it hasn't been stayed by anyone for years.
When he went in, he saw his daughter. But his daughter can't actually sees him as he was already dead. Unless he walks near the candle. Then he will appear and able to have body contact with humans. The candle is a special type of candle. Once the candle is blown off, then he will become invisible. He saw his wife. But was sicked and unable to talk. Maybe waited too long for her husband until become insane already. BUT NO! His wife actually commit suicided 2 days before Lau Shing was executed and his soul came back to his home. That why he can see his wife's spirit too.
Oh ya, Lau Shing can only stay at the world of men for only 49 days. After that he need to leave and go to... I don't know where la. He realized he was dead when Pang Sei also returned to the village to steal the house grant from Lau Shing. So that Pang Sei can sell it and get the money. Pang Sei also made up stories that Lau Shing killed the 7 people by setting off fire. Lau Shing wanted to hit him and stop him but can't. At that moment, he finally realized he was dead.
